Although located in northern Florida, Florida State University offers a Masters in Social Work degree through its online campus. One of the first state universities to offer this program, the College of Social Work at FSU has been around since the late 1920s. Its online offering is just an extension of this long tradition.

University of North Dakota Masters in Social Work Programs
University of North Dakota offers a Masters in social work degree for those that already hold a bachelor's degree in the area as well as a separate one for those that do not hold a bachelor's degree. Due to the college's rural setting, most students go on to work for populations in rural and small-town communities. With their distance-learning program, the school opens up the opportunity to get their degree to many people across the country.
Masters of Social Work for BSW Students
The Masters of Social Work program for those students that already hold a bachelor's degree requires around two years to complete. Students attend live web classes on evenings and weekends. Classes include areas such as research methods, analysis, generalist practice with a variety of groups, and a variety of field seminars.
Masters of Social Work for Non-BSW Students
For those students that do not currently holds a bachelor's degree in social work, the Masters of social work program will take around three years to complete. As with the other program, students attend live web classes on evenings and weekends. In addition to the classes required in the previous program, students also take foundational classes in general practice, social work research methods, communities and organizations, treatment, task forces, and social policy.
